Fun Finds For Camp Care Packages and Visiting Days

Last summer, my son went to sleep-away camp for the first time. It was a big deal for both of us – his first experience away from home and I like having him around!

While camp provides the opportunity for swimming, hiking, biking, and arts and crafts - many kids often get a little homesick.

I’ve found summer camp packages to be the perfect way to let your child know how proud you are of his or her new independence and show your tot how much you care. Care packages make mail call at camp its own little holiday. Of course, nothing is more eagerly awaited by both parents and children than visiting day!

Though camps these days have pretty restrictive lists of what can and can’t be brought onto campgrounds, there are still plenty of fun, small items that your child is sure to love. From notepads and stationery for writing to personalized clipcases and “thing boxes” that can hold treasured possessions, discover tips for filling your care packages - whether sent in the mail or hand delivered on visiting day.

And don’t forget, the #1 item to include in your care package is a handwritten note full of love!

These personalized clipcases come in many patterns. Store stationery, pens, pencils and stamps inside.

Your child can keep in touch with personalized stationery, note cards, and handy address labels.

Your child will feel special with these unique note pads, branded with the camp’s name or their name. These 5” x 7” notepads come with 50 sheets and 10 matching envelopes.

This Lots of Hearts “thing box” can be personalized and can of course hold trinkets and more.

Here’s to you, Dad!

For many fathers and father-figures, they are the people behind the scenes, the one to run behind you as you pedaled your first two-wheeled bike (special thanks to my dad for racing after me during that first wobbly ride!), and the one you go to when there is something to fix in the house.

On a day when we celebrate fathers, it makes sense to give them a gift that reminds them of why they are so great. As you can imagine, when it comes to Father’s Day gifts, I tend to go for the personal kind. Since I’ve done several personalized gifts for my husband since the time he first became a dad, it’s always a challenge to try to “top” the last one.

And while Father’s Day tends to conjure up images of grilling and golf (who doesn’t love a good barbecue and preppy golfing attire?) I also want to offer some gift ideas for those men in your life that may appreciate something outside (or in addition to) those categories. My own father, for example, is a coffee aficionado and my husband is a tech geek at heart.

So when you’ve exhausted the traditional tie and sock combo, check out these ideas from Jodi’s Gifts that will mark this Father’s Day as his best one yet!

For the guy who loves to kick back on the couch when “the game” is on, a personalized sports themed flask.

For the techie in your life (see above - my husband), a personalized mobile phone case.

For the handy type who can fix anything (at least until the professional arrives!), a monogrammed tape measure.

For the constant organizer (or in need of organizing), an engraved money clip.

For the world traveler, luggage tags.

For the business professional type, sports themed or hobby oriented stationery.

For the guy on the go, a travel coffee thermos featuring his initial or name.

For the coffee (or tea!) lover, a personalized mug.

For the golfer (told you I’m a sucker for seersucker!), a monogrammed golf divot keychain.
