Gift Cards or Gift Certificates?

We sell gift certificates and we use them when we donate to charities and schools but it seems that gift certificates are going by the waist side and that gift cards is the way to go. 

So, we will be getting Jodi's Gifts gift cards sometime in August. They are ordered and now all we have to do is wait for them to come in. We will still sell our gift certificates till they run out and at that point we will only sell gift cards. 

So, my question is, which is better... a gift card or gift certificate? Do you have an opinion on this?

Pro's and Con's

Gift Certificates-

Pro- you can personalize it for any amount or personalize it for a particular item such as personalized stationery or or whatever you choose that we sell

Con-they are paper and can rip, they don't fit into a wallet easily; you must fold them up

Gift Cards-

Pro-they are plastic and won't rip, they fit in a wallet and the do not have to be folded

Con-they can not be personalized and or you can not pick a particular item

Help Wanted

Does anyone know of a graphic artist? I am looking for someone to help with some graphics on our new website.

Mogo Charm YouTube Video

New York Gift Show

Today I got in the mail the preview of vendors that will be at the New York Gift Show at Jacob Javits next month. I was looking at the preview to see if there was anyone new and exciting. I think I found one or two vendors. I am mapping out my plan to attend the show and make my re-orders and look for new merchandise. I am thinking of bringing back a few vendors that we used to purchase from.

We are still working on the website which seems like it is taking forever to do but it will get done eventually.Trying to figure out how to write some code. Things are not going as smoothly as I would like but we will keep working out it till it is done. It will be wonderful when it is done and up for all our wonderful customers to see and purchase from.

Our 2nd YouTube video was published today so that is exciting and we are already working on the 3rd one. Lots of wonderful things happening here at Jodi's Gifts.

Many changes....

Welcome to our Blog. We hope that you will check out our blog for the comings and goings around here at Jodi's Gifts. We are working hard to redesign our website so that you our customers will have an easy working website to shop from. Not only did we start this blog but we also started to work on Youtube videos. The first of the many videos will be uploaded in the next day or two.

We hired another hand here to help us out. Her name is Jess  and we are very happy that she has joined our team. She is wonderful and we are thrilled that she will be working with us for the summer and hopefully when she comes home for college vacations.

We are enjoying our summer and can not believe that it is July already. Believe it or not we are working on shows that we will be selling at in November. Signing contracts and mailing checks. Always looking for more shows to do so if you know of any please email us.
