Spring Holidays

In 11 days it will be Passover. It is the earliest that Passover has ever been. I personally am not ready for it. We are having the 2nd Night Seder and I need to figure out what I am cooking so I can order my meat, organize the dinner and figure out all the details.

Easter is not that far off either. It is only 17 days away. Is the Easter bunny visiting your house this year? How many eggs will your children collect when they do the egg hunt?

I grew up in a family that we had an open door policy. Everyone was welcomed no matter what holiday it was, no matter how many people we had, my parents always welcomed everyone. We always had a few non-Jews who did not observe the Jewish holidays but they always wanted to come to our home. It was wonderful! We always had a full house for each and every holiday. What a wonderful memory.

I learned a lot from my parents and I am very thankful for that. I am continuing the tradition with my family with an open door policy for all of our holidays.

Do you have any special traditions that you do for your holidays?

So are you ready for Passover/Easter? Do you have everything you need? Here are some of our top sellers that we are selling. Matzoh covers, Easter bowls and plates, Passover placemats and place cards or Easter invitations we have it all.

Miracles Do Happen

For those of you who have been following my blog posts or my Facebook posts about Sydney I wanted to give you some wonderful news.

Sydney is doing better each day. It is going to be a long haul but she is such a miracle girl. The doctors say she should make a full recovery. Thank g-d for that!

I personally don't know Sydney but I feel like I do through all the posts that have come on Facebook and also through a group I am part of to help out the family. My 7 year old son does know Sydney and he tells me all the time of how sweet she is and how cute she is. He said to me the other day that he can't wait to see her in the hallways at school to say hi to her.

I was in the city last week talking to someone and they asked me if I knew Sydney and how she was doing. I just looked "dump stud" for a second. I just met this person and we were doing business and she had asked me my address and when I mentioned Port Washington, NY she started to get tears in her eyes. I asked her if she was ok and all she could say was poor Sydney. Than she said that she can't say that because she needed to turn it around and make it positive for Sydney. It amazed me that this stranger was so touched by Sydney. She said her friend is on Facebook and heard about it and she has been trying to get information ever since. She held her cross to her heart and just kept saying, way too go girl!

Keep the prayers and positive thinking going! Sydney and her family really appreciate all the prayers and positive thinking. This family is an amazing family! We could all learn something from them.

Prayers and Positive Energy

Back on February 13th I wrote a blog post asking for people to pray for Sydney.
She goes to my son's school and was in a
very serious sledding accident on
Sunday, February 10th.

I asked for love, prayers and lots of positive energy. Prayers and positive energy are
helping Sydney. Please continue praying
and sending positive energy to her.

Today Diane, her mom updated us all with wonderful news.
"Syd laughed today. What a powerful miracle to her friends and family. Thank you to all of you for continuing to pray. We are so blessed and fortunate to have so much love."

I believe in prayers and positive energy.
I know that it helped me when I needed it
and I know it is helping Sydney.

Let's continue to help Sydney and her family.
She is a miracle girl!
Let the miracles keep coming!

35 Year Old Crush- The Meet

Part three of "the man" and his "crush"

They finally had their adventure in the Big Apple.

Here is what “the man” had to say:

“ABOSLUTELY AMAZING! We had the best three days! If you saw a movie with this story you would think it was fabricated as "just a feel good story". We went to great restaurants, a Broadway show, a few bars, walked, talked, laughed, and even cried a bit! It was spectacular! ...and even though we live nowhere near each other we hope to experience this again. It was truly a special three days.”

So happy to hear they had an amazing time. Whether this works out for them or not at least they have these 3 days. We hope for a fairy tale ending and they live happily ever after.

I am a sucker for romance so I am hoping that I get an invitation to their wedding one day and dance the night away with them.

To romance......

Guess what we found .....

The past few days we have been cleaning out our storage warehouse. You never realize how much you have till you decide to clean it out.

We found lots of yarn, needlepoint threads and needlepoint kits. All of these items are from Collectors Crafts which is a crafts division of Jodi's Gifts.

So, what do we do with all these products?
1. Do we donate them?
2. Do we sell them below cost?
3. Do we throw them out?

Of course #3, throwing them out is a big NO, NO.
We like #2 selling them below cost.
We like #1 donating them.

Looking over the stock we have decided that we are going to donate the odds and ends. The question is where to donate them? Any suggestions? Would love to donate them to a school for children to use them. Anyone have a school they could recommend that could use them? We called a few libraries and they all said that is very nice but we have no use for the yarn.

The stock that we are going to sell are bags of yarn, needlepoint kits and of course needlepoint thread. We are going to sell them at huge discounted prices so everyone can get a great bargain.

I personally am so tempted to keep all the yarn and start to knit like I used to. Unfortunately I don't knit like that anymore but once in awhile I surprise myself and pick up my knitting needles and start knitting.

Look out in the next few days we will be adding the yarn, needlepoint threads and needlepoint kits to our website to sell.

If you have any recommendation of where to donate the yarn please email us at info@jodisgifts.com.

35 Year Old Crush- Part 2

This is a continuation of my blog post from February 13th about a man and his 35 year old crush. If you have not read that blog post please go back to February 13th and read my post. You will get a chuckle out of it.

I am in contact with the "man" and he and his "crush girl" would love for me to continue to report about the adventure in the Big Apple.

I got a kick out of it when he told me he told his "crush girl". I was shocked he did, but was flattered that he did. He is such a nice guy and he really seems to like her. I think it took a lot of courage to tell her about telling a bunch of strangers at a networking party all about her. Also, letting her know that I wrote about them in my blog.

They will be seeing each other for the escapade in the Big Apple next week.

In his email he told me: "I have a bunch of things planned, like, dinner at some nice restaurants, seeing The Book of Mormon, walks around the city, shopping, late night bars, etc…   We’re really excited to spend some time together after so many years!  Trying to not have any expectations…but that’s sort of tough."

Romance is in the air. The two of them seem to have gotten the "bug". They should have a great time in the Big Apple. Can't wait to hear about the escapade.

To the "man" and his "crush girl" wishing you a incredible time!
